Police have been cleared of any wrongdoing in a pursuit of two stolen vehicles, involved in a Christchurch liquor store burglary

Police have been cleared of any wrongdoing in a pursuit of two stolen vehicles, involved in a Christchurch liquor store burglary

After a burglary at a Lincoln liquor store in November 2019 - officers followed two cars for eight minutes before using road spikes..

Two occupants in one car were apprehended after trying to escape on foot.

The other car with three occupants drove on the wrong side of the road, went through a red light, and rammed a police car, before police nudged it off the road.

One man arrested was bitten twice by a police dog.

The Independent Police Conduct Authority has found the officers' pursuit was justified - and using a Police dog was reasonable and proportionate.
