A South Island cold case has officially reopened after nearly 30 years

A South Island cold case has officially reopened after nearly 30 years

Fresh enquiries are underway in the small West Coast town of Kakapotahi, as Tasman police investigate the presumed murder of 25 year old David Robinson in 1998.

His body was found on a remote beach near Ross, with a gunshot wound to his head.

Detective Inspector Geoff Baber says Robinson was killed about 10 days earlier.

Baber says there may be people now more willing to talk about what they saw or heard, and police won't give up.
