Charli XCX won Song of the Year for 'Guess' at the BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard

The 32-year-old pop star released the track from her album 'Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat' last year, and was honoured to have received the accolade during Saturday (01.03.25) night's ceremony

Speaking live on stage at London's O2 Arena, she said: "Hi. Thank you, erm, yeah, this is cool. I'm really happy that a song about underwear now has a BRIT Award. Very important stuff. I'm sure that proves something about songwriting, I'm not sure what.

Charli had teamed up with US pop star Billie Eilish for the track, and thanked the 'bad guy' hitmaker for quickly deciding to work on it with her despite only having a few days' notice.

She added: "Thank you to Billie, I asked whether she wanted to be on the song about three days before we shot the music video, and five days before it came out so shout out to her for moving with pace. Not all artists are spontaneous despite them claiming that they are so, thank you Billie, for running and gunning it with me, that was really cool."

Charli had beat off competition from Artemis for 'I Like the Way You Kiss Me', Beatles for 'Now and Then', Bl3ss and Camrin Watson with 'Kisses' and Central Cee Ft. Lil Baby for 'Band4band'

Also nominated for the award were Chase + Status and Stormzy for 'Backbone', Coldplay for 'feelslikeimfallinginlove' Dua Lipa -for 'Training Season', Ella Henderson ft. Rudimental for 'Alibi' and Jade for 'Angel of my Dreams'.

Jordan Adetunji had also received a nomination for the song'Kehlani', whilst KSI ft. Trippie Redd was given a nod for 'Thick Of It', as was Myles Smith for 'Stargazing'

Eurovision star Sam Ryder was also up for the award following his release of 'You're Christmas To Me', as was Sonny Fodera/Jazzy/D.O.D for 'Some Days'.
