Whangarei Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a bar last night, after a man reportedly fired a shot towards the roof, and assaulted a customer

They were called to the bar on Kensington Avenue at around 10pm, when the man took cash from the bar's tills and drove off.

The car was being driven by a second person and is believed to be a white Toyota Aqua, with stolen license plates.

The injured customer was taken to hospital, but has now been discharged.
