    Matt Payne has been the beneficiary of a late crash to win the Bathurst 1000 at Mt Panorama


    The 23-year-old New Zealander and co-driver Garth Tander climbed from 18th to take the title, hitting the lead for the first time when James Golding and Cooper Murray collided.

    Golding crossed the line first, but was handed a five-second penalty for the incident.
