Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria Baldwin is convinced she was voted off Dancing With The Stars because of a social media "campaign"

The yoga instructor was among the contestants competing on the US TV talent show but she was given the boot last month and she went on to tell fans in an Instagram video she was "bullied off" the series - and now she has explained she thinks her exit was down to trolls plotting on social media platforms.

During an appearance on the Too Much podcast, Hilaria, 41, explained: "[It was a] campaign ... They're gonna vote for all the couples besides me, or besides X person. So that suppresses your fan vote. This is not just like a me thing ...

"It was because they were reaching out to everybody to do it. You open TikTok, you're like: 'Oh my God, this is like this sad'. It hurts your feelings."

Hilaria claimed the same thing has happened to other contestants in the past and she is keen to silence her critics, adding: "I don't care. I'll be the person who's crying in front of the world because I'm gonna show my humanity.

"Some people are gonna like that and some people are gonna make fun of me more for that."

Hilaria insisted that "everybody on the show is lovely", adding: "Now, is this something where we have to go around and feel bad for me? We don't. I had the time of my life. I'm only a better, happier person because I did the show."

In an Instagram video after her exit, Hilaria told fans: "I did get bullied off the show. I did, that's for sure. That is for sure."

She later opened up about her exit in an interview on the official Dancing With The Stars podcast, saying: "I opened my heart and now it's broken again

"I'm 41 and I met Alec when I was 27. The world has been trying to beat me since, and they did, they really did. Because no matter what I do, it's not enough."

Hilaria's exit came shortly before her husband Alec was involved in a car crash in New York.

The actor and his brother Stephen Baldwin were not hurt in the smash when their car hit a tree after swerving to avoid a garbage truck, and Alec used a social media video to assure fans they were both OK and send his love to his wife following her TV disappointment.

He said: "My wife's car was pretty smashed up. Big tree. Big fat tree ... I'm going to LA [now] to see my family. Can't wait. Going to California to gather my family out there.

"Spend a few days out there then come home. And I'm still so proud of my wife. Hilaria I love you more than anything and I'm very proud of you ... "
