Teyana Taylor was congratulated by her daughters after her Golden Globes success

The 35-year-old movie star recently won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in One Battle After Another, and Teyana cherished the time she spent with her daughters in the aftermath of her success.

The actress - who has Iman, ten, and Rue, five, with ex-partner Iman Shumpert - told E! News: "It was so cute because they were actually in the lobby.

"When you come from getting your award, there's this little lobby area and they were waiting right there for me because they were in a suite. So, when they came down to the little lobby area it was just so cute and I just melted into their arms."

Teyana feels she's really worked hard for her recent success, and she's now enjoying her moment.

She said: "I've been playing the patient game since I was 15-the last 20 years.

"To see everything pay off, to see that patience pay off, it makes you feel so good. I have no regrets. I always say, 'To wait is not punishment, it's preparation for what's already written for you,' and this was already written. No matter what."

In December, Teyana revealed that she was focused on acting because she felt "claustrophobic in the music space".

The movie star - who has enjoyed success as a musician and as an actress - told Variety: "Honestly, I've just always been a character.

"As I got older, kids would play and I would watch movies - some, probably, I should not have been watching. I've always been into how an actor can emote. I always wanted to be Julia Roberts or Kate Winslet.

"As I got into music, everything else was put to a back burner. I didn't get the opportunity to go to classes and study it the way I would've liked to. Once I started to feel claustrophobic in the music space, I was like, I need to pour into other things that I love."
