Jake Paul was reduced to tears as his fiancée Jutta Leerdam broke a world record at the Winter Olympics, which he described as "one of the most important sporting moments ever"

The 29-year-old boxer got emotional as his Dutch speed skater significant other clinched gold with a time of 1:12.31 in the women's 1,000 metres event at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics.

Following his wife-to-be's historic victory, Jake wrote on X: "we just witnessed one of the most important sporting moments ever. the doc will tell. words cant describe how proud of you i am. (sic)"

Jake - who popped the question in March 2025 - also shared a video of the moment Leerdam clinched gold, in which he was overcome with emotion.

Over the Instagram clip, he wrote: "MY BABY JUST SET THE OLYMPIC WORLD RECORD."

He also wrote in the caption: "IM SO PROUD OF YOU @juttaleerdam (sic)"

Just before Leerdam's effort, her compatriot Femke Kok had broken the world record with a time of 1:12.59.

However, Leerdam - who won a silver medal four years ago at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics - spectacularly sped around the track 0.28 seconds quicker.

The Dutch one-two was witnessed by the nation's King Willem-Alexander.

Leerdam said afterwards: "I couldn't believe it, but I was also so tired.

"It was hard to feel something. I couldn't really stand, I couldn't really see, I couldn't do anything.

"After the finish, I was just hoping that I saw green.

"When I saw that green next to my name, I thought, 'Oh my, this is a dream come true.'

"This is surreal. I still can't believe it. It's just a dream come true."

Kok won the silver medal, and Japan's Takagi Miho - who won gold in Beijing in 2022 - took bronze.
