Neve Campbell struggles to watch scary movies

The 52-year-old actress has enjoyed huge success playing Sidney Prescott in the Scream film franchise, but Neve doesn't actually enjoy watching horror movies.

She told Extra: "I struggle to watch scary movies. But actually, I saw Sinners recently. It was brilliant. I think horror films can be a lot of fun to watch. I just need to be with somebody."

Neve has reunited with Courteney Cox to star in Scream 7, the latest movie in the money-spinning film franchise, and she's relished the experience of working with the Hollywood star.

Neve shared: "I love that woman.

"I mean, she's just such a talent. She's so good at what she does and such a good heart as well. So, we have fun together."

Neve didn't star in Scream 6, but she didn't have any hesitations about returning to the franchise.

She said: "They came to me with respect, which I was very grateful for.

"But I love these movies, you know, and when they talked to me about wanting to revisit Sidney's story and sort of see where she's at, at this point in her life, I love exploring that ... These movies are just a lot of fun to be a part of."

Meanwhile, Neve previously claimed that dance training has helped her to stay "sane".

The actress trained at Canada's prestigious National Ballet School from the age of nine to 14, and Neve also ex ecutive produced a documentary called Swan Song, which centred on the National Ballet of Canada's 2022 production of Swan Lake.

Neve previously told People: "All of the discipline that I have, I take from dance.

"The capacity to be able to listen and take direction, with humility, and an understanding that you're never going to be perfect, and that it takes work and drive to be good, and that no matter how hard you work, you'll never completely get there - that is the journey.

"That's what I learned, and I've taken that into the acting world. I think it certainly has fed me and it's helped me stay sane in a very challenging world."
