Parts of Auckland's Tamaki Drive are closed to vehicles this weekend

Parts of Auckland's Tamaki Drive are closed to vehicles this weekend

The road between Quay Street and the Ngapipi Bridge is shut to all traffic, including buses, until tomorrow night.

The full weekend operation will allow a crane to lift two 60-tonne beams onto the new pedestrian bridge extension at Point Resolution.

Auckland Transport says this project will improve walking and cycling facilities along Tamaki Drive.

Once complete, it will connect cycle routes to Glen Innes, Parnell, and the central city.
