A company that discharged contaminants in the Tararua District has been sentenced

A company that discharged contaminants in the Tararua District has been sentenced

NZL Forestry Group Limited has pleaded guilty in the Environment Court in Palmerston North to three offences against the RMA.

The judge imposed an 80-thousand dollar staring point - but then reduced it to around 56-thousand.

Horizons Regional Council say the offences relate to restrictions on land use and discharging contaminants as well as failing to comply with an abatement notice.
