The Football Ferns have been put to the sword by the United States in their second group game at the Tokyo Olympics

The Football Ferns have been put to the sword by the United States in their second group game at the Tokyo Olympics

They've lost 6-1, conceding two goals in the first half and four in the second.

Four further USA goals were disallowed through offside in the first spell.

Betsy Hassett scored New Zealand's only goal in the 72nd minute to pull the score back to 3-1 at that time.

Here she is on Sky Sport...

Kiwi cyclist George Bennett has finished 26th in the men's road race at the Olympic Games.

Bennett remained in the peloton for much of the race, but was unable to mount a challenge for a medal.

Ecudoarian cyclist Richard Carapaz won the race, pulling clear in the final stages to beat Belgian Wout van Aert who claimed silver and Tour de France champ Tadej Pogacar third.

Those two finished one minute seven seconds back in a tight finish.
