The Finance Minister says better days are ahead, when it comes to New Zealand's economy

The Finance Minister says better days are ahead, when it comes to New Zealand's economy

Statistics NZ data shows our Gross Domestic Product fell 0.2 percentage points in the three months to June.

Another quarter of negative growth would mean New Zealand would be, once again, in a technical recession.

But Nicola Willis says looking forward, the Reserve Bank's interest rate cuts will help boost the economy.

She says it's significant that interest rates have been dropped, and New Zealand is on a downward trajectory when it comes further rate cuts.

Nicola Willis says those should breathe life into the economy.
