ASB claims overseas economies appeal more to migrants

New Zealand had a net migration gain of nearly 45-thousand annually to September.
It's a drop from a provisional peak of about 136-thousand last year.
Senior Economist Mark Smith says our economy and labour market are lagging behind.
He says our unemployment rate is five-percent - compared to about 4-percent in Australia, the US and the UK - so the grass appears to be greener.
