    Another gong for the overflowing trophy cabinet of football star Lionel Messi


    The Argentinian's been named Major League Soccer's Most Valuable Player.

    37-year-old Messi captained Inter Miami to their first-ever Supporters' Shield as top club in the regular season - scoring 20 goals and laying on 16 assists in 19 matches.

    The team amassed a league record 74-points - before suffering a shock first-round elimination from the playoffs.
