The Foreign Affairs Minister is sure New Zealand's concerns about Pacific aid have been heard in Washington DC

The Foreign Affairs Minister is sure New Zealand's concerns about Pacific aid have been heard in Washington DC

Winston Peters has met the Foreign Assistance Office Director, Peter Marocco, this morning.

Peters says they discussed the Trump Administration's views - and our respective countries' roles in the region.

Final US aid decisions won't be made until next month, but Peters says he's communicated the importance of supporting the Pacific.

Peters says he received assurances they're keen to hear New Zealand's views -- and he feels more confident now than when he arrived in the US.
