State Highway 7 between Springs Junction and Lewis Pass has reopened after snow caused its closure earlier this morning

State Highway 7 between Springs Junction and Lewis Pass has reopened after snow caused its closure earlier this morning

Motorists in the area are advised to drive carefully because of ongoing winter conditions.

The Auckland Harbour Bridge has a temporary speed limit of 50km per hour due to strong wind gusts.

Meanwhile a strong wind watch is in place for Hawke's Bay south of Napier and Wairarapa north of Martinborough.

Road snowfall warnings are in effect for Crown Range Road, Lewis Pass and Milford Road.
