Over 800 New Zealanders are expected to join this month's challenge to support families at Ronald McDonald House

The charity's House to House fundraiser involves people getting sponsored to walk, run, bike or swim a distance of their choice.

On average, families travel more than 210-kilometres from their home to a Ronald McDonald House to be close to their hospitalised children.

Chief executive Lisa Tai says the more people who join the better.

She says their goal is to raise over 400-thousand - which would provide more than two-thousand nights of accommodation.
