A Maori-Pacific consortium has publicly launched its bid to join the Aussie rugby league competition as the NRL's 20th team from 2032

A Maori-Pacific consortium has publicly launched its bid to join the Aussie rugby league competition as the NRL's 20th team from 2032

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The bid has been launched under the name Mana Pasifika, a similar name to Moana Pasifika in Super Rugby Pacific.

Former Kiwis centre Fred Ah Kuoi , who has publicly backed the new league bid, says the word "mana" is powerful for Pacific people and doesn't think there will be anyone will mix up the two teams.
