Goldie Hawn didn't want a big party for her 80th birthday

The Death Becomes Her actress celebrated her milestone age on Friday (21.11.25) and while her loved ones would have "done anything" to mark the occasion, the Oscar-winning star wanted to keep things low-key.

Her son Oliver Hudson told Us Weekly magazine in an interview carried out before his mom's birthday: "We would have done anything for her.

"Totally up to her. [If] she wanted to go to the moon, we'd figure it out, but she's a simple gal.

"She wants her family, and that's it, and that's what we're doing now.

"We have a lot of fun things planned within that she doesn't know about, but we are just going to keep it [to family]."

However, the 49-year-old actor - who has Wilder, 18, Bodhi, 15, and Rio, 12, with wife Erinn Bartlett - revealed he, sister Kate Hudson, 46, half-brother Wyatt Russell, and Goldie's partner Kurt Russell had plenty of activities planned to celebrate the occasion.

He said: "We've got some golf tournament things, we've got some cooks, [and] we might have some music.

"We've got some stuff, but the patrons will be just the family."

Oliver's sister Kate took to Instagram to pay tribute to her "truly extraordinary" mom on her birthday.

Sharing a series of throwback photos with Goldie, the How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days star wrote: "Birthday Love

"To distill half of her life that I've known into a single caption feels impossible. I have been the lucky recipient of novels of love and wisdom from her. She is truly extraordinary and as I celebrate her everyday, today we all get to share in it! Please join me in wishing a huge Happy Birthday to this 80 year old queen goddess!

    "We love you Mama (sic)"

Supermodel Karlie Kloss hailed Goldie a "queen goddess" in the comments of her friend's post, while actress Rita Wilson wrote: "Scorpio sister Goldie!!!! So much love and thanks.(sic)"

Oliver previously admitted he couldn't "fathom" life without his mother.

Speaking on his and Kate's Sibling Revelry podcast, he said: "I don't know who I would be without my mother. I can't even fathom it.

"The love that I have for her and the respect and the reverence that I have for her is beyond anything."
