Keith Urban helped a contestant reshape her song about marriage during the latest episode of his CBS/Paramount+ reality series The Road

Adjusting the performance only weeks before the programme aired, the Oklahoma-set episode was filmed well before 58-year-old musician Keith's estranged wife, Nicole Kidman, also 58, filed for divorce on 30 September after 19 years of marriage.

Keith - who serves as ex ecutive producer and judge of The Road - is overseeing a 12-contestant competition in which audience-voted concerts determine which performer will become his next opening act.

On Sunday's (23.11.25) episode, Urban suggested Jenny Tolman shift her original song Married in a Honky Tonk from the key of G to C.

He said: "Just to see what happens. I mean, you may hate it immediately."

Jenny responded: "Listen, I love you and I'm not looking to spend any extra time with you in the bottom two tonight. So, whatever you think!"

Backstage, she added: "A key change this close to showtime is throwing quite a wrench into my plans. Nothing like Keith Urban telling you to raise your song a whole step right before the show!"

Watching her perform the new arrangement at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Keith said: "The whole thing was so much better. Energy's in the room."

Jenny called it her "best performance on tour yet", but was eliminated by the episode's end.

In an earlier instalment, Keith told fellow judge Blake Shelton touring life could make him feel "completely lonely and miserable and sick" - but added: "This is what I'm born to do."

Keith is set to share custody of daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, in 2026, with Nicole identified as the primary residential parent.

A source told People: "Their daughters live with Nicole, but spend as much time with Keith as they want. There is no drama."

Keith and Nicole were last seen together publicly at a FIFA Club World Cup match on 20 June.

Nicole also has two older children, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, from her marriage to Tom Cruise.

Keith previously completed a three-month rehab programme after their 2006 wedding.

Presenting Nicole with the AFI Life Achievement Award last year, he said the experience "(nearly) blew our marriage to smithereens", adding: "Nic pushed through every negative voice - I'm sure even some of her own - and she chose love, and here we are tonight, 18 years later."

The pair are expected to divide substantial shared assets, including a reported multimillion-dollar property portfolio.
