The Abuse in Care Lead Minister says a privacy breach involving survivors, was extraordinarily avoidable

The Abuse in Care Lead Minister says a privacy breach involving survivors, was extraordinarily avoidable

The data breach occurred when an email was sent out by the Crown Response Office advising Lake Alice survivors of the impending release of an independent arbiter's report.

Each recipient of that email could see the email addresses of other recipients.

Erica Stanford says she worked tirelessly to build trust with survivors, to have someone C-C everyone in an email -- should never have happened.

The Crown Response office says the email was meant to be sent using the B-C-C function.
