Victims have given impact statements in Greymouth, where former Gloriavale leader Howard Temple will be sentenced

The 85-year-old pleaded guilty to 12 charges earlier this year - including indecent assault, and common assault - involving nine victims.

One victim told the court Temple used God to cover his sins, and described a culture where women were blamed for drawing unwanted attention.

She says the abuse has left her with panic attacks, nightmares, chronic sleep problems and deep mistrust of others.
