Demand for sexual violence support's rising, but falling funding's left one group appealing to the public

HELP Auckland's launched an urgent holiday appeal, calling for assistance - with record levels of child sexual abuse and rising digital harm.

Executive Director Kathryn McPhillips says the 1.7-million Government dollars withdrawn from sexual violence support affects their long term counselling service, which helped over 100 survivors annually.

She says they will need to tail the service off in six months, meaning they can't help people not covered by ACC.
