Fire and Emergency says its specialist Search and Rescue teams are standing down their operations in Mount Maunganui

Last week a slip came down on the campground - trapping and killing 6 people.

Four of them have officially been identified by the Coroner, with another identification hearing beginning now.

Assistant National Commander David Guard says the search and rescue team has worked meticulously and tirelessly throughout the operation.

He thanks the community for its outpouring of support.
