Former All Whites goalkeeper Jacob Spoonley hopes the Wellington Phoenix are supporting their glovesman Josh Oluwayemi

Former All Whites goalkeeper Jacob Spoonley hopes the Wellington Phoenix are supporting their glovesman Josh Oluwayemi

The English goalkeeper has gone viral after a bad blunder in the 5-nil loss to Auckland FC - heading a clearance long ball into his own net.

He conceded three more by halftime and didn't return after the break.

The blunder has since gone viral worldwide and Spoonley says Oluwayemi had targeted this game to come back from injury and knew how much it meant to the club.
