Continuous heavy rain on the West Coast has forced the closure of State Highway 7 at Omoto, as a dangerous slip gets worse

Continuous heavy rain on the West Coast has forced the closure of State Highway 7 at Omoto, as a dangerous slip gets worse

The rain has accelerated the landslide's movement this afternoon - with it moving up to 100 millimetres an hour.

The highway was re-opened to a single lane with traffic management, mid this week, subject to weather and safety considerations.

Now those conditions are too dangerous for the road to remain open - it'll be reassessed at 10 tomorrow morning.
