A section of State Highway 10 near Kaeo in Northland is down to one lane, after a large hole's been found under the road's southbound lane, a kilometre south of Totara North Rd in Kaeo

NZTA's Jacqui Hori-Hoult says the hole appears to be a two and a half metre wide and five metre deep tomo - a cavity caused by a build-up of water underground.

Stop go traffic managers are on site, with traffic lights being installed this afternoon.
