Max George’s dog is his “best mate”

The former Wanted singer was delighted to have his pet pooch Albert by his side during lockdown and joked that his partner Stacey Giggs only bought him a canine companion so he’d have another outlet for his affection

He told HELLO! magazine: “I have my dog, Albert – he’s like my best mate.

“Especially in lockdown, he’s always been there for me.

“I’m quite an affectionate person, which can be quite annoying sometimes.

“I think it’s why Stacey decided to get me a dog!”

Stacey has children Liberty, 17, and Zach, 14, from her marriage to Ryan Giggs and Max is close to both teenagers.

He gushed: “I adore them like my own.”

And after two years together, the ‘Chasing the Sun’ hitmaker hopes he and Stacey will have their own children together one day.

Asked if marriage and children is on the cards, he said: “Yeah, I feel the sky is the limit.

“I know that whatever we do, our lives are going to be great together. I love every day of being with her.”

Max – who has recently spoken about his struggles with depression – is feeling excited for the future.

He said: “Success is feeling happy and having peace of mind.

“Now when I think about what I want to do next, I look at that as an exciting challenge, rather than a daunting one. That is a really good feeling.”

The 32-year-old star is in a “good place” with his mental health and hopes being candid about his problems will help other people.

He said: “I am in a good place and I understand it … but many are in much worse situations.

“It is an illness that is everywhere.

“People have since said that it helped them to hear me talk about it. If it helps, then I will speak about it every day.”
