Concern from one epidemiologist -- about a drop in vaccinations around the country over the long weekend

Concern from one epidemiologist -- about a drop in vaccinations around the country over the long weekend

Eight of Auckland's 16 vaccination centres and six of Waikato's seven vaccination centres were closed -- including the vaccination centre in Te Awamutu, the new epicentre of Waikato's cases.

Only a quarter of the testing and vaccination sites listed on the Healthpoint directory, were open through Labour Weekend.

Auckland University's Rod Jackson says it's concerning, if demand for vaccination is slipping, and people are becoming complacent.

The Ministry of Health says DHBs understand their communities, and have been providing vaccinations and testing when and where it's needed.
