    The Treaty Principles Bill has passed its first reading - after a disruptive haka in the House, and two MPs being booted out


    Te Pati Maori MP Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke was suspended for beginning the haka - during a vote on the legislation.

    Opposition MPs and people in the public gallery also joined in.

    Speaker Gerry Brownlee briefly suspended the House to end the protest, then recalled members to vote.

    Labour MP Willie Jackson was earlier kicked out for the day - after he refused to apologise for ending his impassioned speech calling the Act Party leader a liar.

    He says David Seymour fuels hatred and misinformation in New Zealand.
