Christchurch police have arrested a 60-year-old man, in relation to four fires in Woolston area, just over a week ago

Christchurch police have arrested a 60-year-old man, in relation to four fires in Woolston area, just over a week ago

Each blaze began in a rubbish bin, one spreading to a nearby building - with extensive damage.

The man was arrested last Wednesday, as a result of CCTV footage and information provided by the public.

He's charged with arson, intentional damage - and two unrelated dishonesty offences.

He appeared in court last week, and will reappear next month.
