    Firefighters are wanting to make the most of favourable weather conditions, as they battle to contain a wildfire in Canterbury


    The blaze remains at 980 hectares with 110 firefighters at the scene.

    There are currently light winds in the area but that is set strengthen this afternoon, with the risk of breakouts.

    State Highway 73 remains open under traffic restrictions.
