Nurses across parts of the North Island are walking off the job today

Nurses across parts of the North Island are walking off the job today

Rolling strike action's taking place from unionised Health New Zealand nurses in Counties Manukau, Whanganui, and the Wairarapa.

Members of the Nurses Organisation are striking for four hours across the three locations.

It follows a nationwide strike on Monday last week - over patient safety concerns due to staffing levels.

Health NZ says plans are in place to manage the rolling strikes, going from one til five pm until December 19.
