Justin Theroux's fiancée Nicole Brydon Bloom has opened up about the early stages of their relationship - describing their time as friends before dating as "really nice"

The actor, 53, and 30-year-old actress' engagement was confirmed on 29 August, 2024, by People after she was seen wearing an engagement ring at the Venice Film Festival, with their first public appearance together at a Netflix event in New York in February 2023, and she has now told of the start of their romance during a chat on Today with the show's co-host Al Roker

When asked whether she had adjusted to calling Justin her fiancé: "It's getting more and more normal for me."

And responding to Al's mention the actor had said on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' he was drawn to her from the moment they met, Nicole replied: "I have heard. I have heard. That's very sweet.

"We were friends for a little while before we started dating, and I think that's actually really nice how it happened."

By August 2023, Justin and Nicole had been photographed kissing during a night out in Manhattan, before making their red carpet debut at Vanity Fair's Oscars party in March 2024.

They were also spotted attending Nicole's twin sister's wedding and the wedding of Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, Nicole described Justin's proposal in Italy as "very romantic", adding: "He did it properly, it was very sweet. Just the two of us."

Justin, previously married to 'Friends' actress Jennifer Aniston, 55, from 2015 to 2018, discussed their first meeting on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' in September 2024.

He said: "The first impression was wow. And then a friend of mine who was with me, literally the quote, (they) said, 'That's the one'.

Like, we hadn't even met yet. And I was like, 'She's so stunning.' So I went over and started talking and things like that and it progressed."

Nicole's acting credits include the Hulu series 'Paradise', as well as 'We Were the Lucky Ones' and 'The Gilded Age', while Justin most recently appeared in 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice'.
