Parramatta halfback Mitchell Moses will miss the first six weeks of the NRL season with a foot injury in a blow to the Eels' new era under Jason Ryles

After ruling him out earlier in the week of round one, the Eels sought independent medical advice before determining Moses would wear a moon boot in the coming weeks.

He'll likely return against former side Wests Tigers on Easter Monday.

The NRL season continues tonight with the Sydney Roosters hosting the Broncos.
