    The cherry industry's working hard to ensure New Zealand keeps up with other countries


    Exports have hit a new milestone, surpassing five thousand tonnes.

    The previous record was about four-thousand-200 tonnes in the 2017/18 season.

    Summerfruit New Zealand CEO Dean Smith says there's room for growth in the market.

    He says this suggests there's significant potential, but it's very competitive - as Chile has also increased production.
