The Government's expecting a positive reception from farmers at Fieldays

The Government's expecting a positive reception from farmers at Fieldays

More than 100-thousand people are expected to pour through the gates of Hamilton's Mystery Creek over the next four days, for the largest agricultural show in the southern hemisphere.

Christopher Luxon, Chris Hipkins and other political leaders will be making their pitch to farmers, today and tomorrow.

Agriculture Minister Todd McClay says the Government's been working hard to simplify rules to reduce costs on farms, and he's hearing that's starting to filter through to farmers.

He says 80 percent of everything New Zealand exports comes from the primary sector, so the Government is listening.
