MetService is forecasting stormy weather to carry on across the North Island tonight

A thunderstorm watch has been issued for most regions between Northland and Wellington, until 10pm.

Auckland's severe thunderstorm warning has been lifted, but heavy rain is likely to resume throughout the evening.

MetService is warning of surface flooding, flash-floods, slips, and hazardous driving conditions.
