Fonterra's taking its growing organic business south for the first time

    Fonterra

The co-operative is recruiting both converting and existing organic farms, with the initial focus on Southland through to Canterbury.

More than 100 North Island farms are already part of the programme.

Organics General Manager Andrew Henderson says global demand for organic dairy continues to climb.

He says Fonterra isn't able to keep up with customer demand, so ensuring the company can grow with its customers, is important.
