Hospitality staff are nervous about walking home following a brawl on Wellington's Courtenay Place

Hospitality staff are nervous about walking home following a brawl on Wellington's Courtenay Place

There are reports of security staff being spat on and physically abused for refusing to let intoxicated punters in.

However Wellington City Council community services manager Jenny Raine says those monitoring CCTV footage in town, aren't seeing increasing levels of violence.

This follows a fight on Courtenay Place on Saturday evening which left one person seriously injured.
