Thousands of runners, supporters, and visitors are descending on Queenstown this weekend

Thousands of runners, supporters, and visitors are descending on Queenstown this weekend

The city's airport is expecting one of its busiest weekends of the year as people arrive for the Queenstown Marathon.

It's preparing to welcome and farewell about 50-thousand passengers over six days, a 15 percent increase on last year.

Today will be the peak day for arrivals, while Sunday will be the busiest departure day.

To support the surge in demand, airlines have added 46 extra flights until Monday.
