    The first day of Autumn is bringing snow to the South Island


    MetService says there'll be about 1cm of snow in the Lewis Pass State Highway 7 tonight.

    And in Porters Pass, State Highway 73, between 2- and 4-cm of snow is forecast between now and mid-day tomorrow.
