Chadwick Boseman is to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame five years after his death

Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement: "The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman's extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world."

The star will be located at 6904 Hollywood Boulevard and the ceremony which will also feature tributes from Boseman's Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and actress Viola Davis, who worked with the actor on his final film Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Davis previouslu admitted she was devastated by her friend's death. Speaking to Yahoo!, she explained: "I broke down when I heard he passed.

"Lord knows we all would've wanted him to live another 50 years. We all want longevity. But I can't see his life tragically at all ...

"Because I felt like he was always living in the moment, squeezing out every bit of life. What it makes me think is, it's not the quantity, it's the quality ..."

She added: "What I hold onto with Chad is that he lived his life his way. I would say his professional life as absolutely paralleled his personal life, that's my guess, in terms of how he lived with the utmost integrity."

Other stars recently honoured with stars on the sidewalk include actress Naomi Watts, who attended her ceremony last month, as well as rock veterans Def Leppard, Jessica Chastain, Green Day and comedian Ricky Gervais.

Speaking at his ceremony in May, Gervais said of the honour: "I'd love to claim it was due to my unrivalled genius, but truth be told it's a cocktail of luck persistence and a little bit of pushing against the tide.

"You've got to polarise. I think you need to know that if you're doing anything of any worth as many people hate you as love you, but that shouldn't affect you. The ones that love you, they buy your house ...

"I was nervous because when they first told me I got this as the first thing I thought about was, "Do I have to get down on all fours and put my hands in concrete?

"I just thought: 'I won't get back up, and that'll be embarrassing, but I don't have to do that.' Me standing here now is as embarrassing and awkward as it gets. "
