Kansas City Chiefs President Mark Donovan thinks Taylor Swift is a "phenomenon"

The 35-year-old singer got engaged to Chiefs star Travis Kelce earlier this year, and Mark has heaped praise on Taylor, observing that the chart-topping pop singer is a "special kind of person".

He told Kay Adams on the Up and Adams Show: "Taylor's been amazing to us. It's been nothing but good. She is a phenomenon. She is just a special kind of person."

Taylor's fame and success has helped to bring new fans to the NFL and the Chiefs more specifically. However, the sports franchise has no intention of trying to profit off Taylor's name.

Mark said: "I told Travis, 'Look, we are going to treat you and your relationship with the same respect that we treat any other player or coach's relationship.'

"It's a relationship. We're not going to monetise it, we're not going to go out there and go crazy."

The Chiefs have actually decided against showing images of Taylor on the big screen during their home games.

Mark is determined to remain respectful of Taylor and Travis' relationship.

He explained: "For a couple of years, all those shots you see in the stadium. He scores a touchdown. He makes a catch. It goes to Taylor. Especially the first year. We never showed Taylor on our big boards in our stadium, never. It was respectful. We're not going to do that."

Taylor began dating Travis in 2023, and Patrick Mahomes - Travis' teammate at the Kansas City Chiefs - previously claimed that Taylor has helped to make the NFL franchise a "worldwide team".

The sports star told Time magazine: "[The Chiefs] went from a nationwide team that was kind of global to a full global worldwide team. That came from Taylor's fanbase."

Patrick also admitted to being wowed by Taylor's work ethic.

He said: "I've met a lot of famous people now in my life. Taylor's probably the most down-to-earth person that's been on that stage for that long.

"She's never not working. Even when she's taking her downtime, she's working on something. Shooting a music video or singing a song or writing a song. You can see it by how she talks."
