    If you think 2025 was a particularly warm year, you'd be right


    Earth Sciences New Zealand's new climate summary shows 2025 was the fourth warmest since records began in 1909.

    Taranaki takes the crown as the sunniest place of the year - with over 2700 sunshine hours.

    Climate, Atmosphere, and Hazards Manager Nava Fedaeff says the warmth was consistent across the board.
