Holes are being poked in an economic report claiming 383-million dollars would be generated for the economy from sand mining at Northland's Bream Bay

The proposal is on the Government's fast track approval list and could see eight million cubic metres of sand removed over 35 years, by company McCallum Brothers.
Axiom Economics' Hayden Green says most of the mentioned economic benefits arise from transport cost savings, the company would make.
He says even if the number's taken at face value, it's not a public benefit.
McCallum Brothers have been approached for comment.
