Brandi Glanville feels like she "lost everything" as a result of her breast implants rupturing

The 53-year-old star has been ill for the last few years with a facial parasite but she now believes it was caused by the infection sweeping through her body when her implants burst and her health struggles caused her to lose confidence as they had such an impact on all areas of her life.

She said on the I Do, Part 2 podcast: "I haven't had sex in three years, the whole time I've been sick, because I lost my confidence.

"I feel like I lost everything at once. I lost my job. I lost my reputation. I lost my looks."

Brandi noted that during her "dark times", she "isolated" herself from everyone other than her sons, Jake, 22, and 18-year-old Mason, who she has with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian.

She added: "I'm still working on my confidence. It's just a lot of - it seems silly - but as women, when you look good, you feel good."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star saw 21 doctors and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to work out what was wrong with her.

She said: "The [implants] were making me sick.

"I went to 21 doctors. I'm telling you, [it cost] $200,000. I had insurance but the people at my insurance, Kaiser let's just say, sucks.

"I was paying out of pocket to see specialists, infectious disease doctors, rheumatologists. Every doctor you can think of, I saw.

"It came on overnight. I have weird lumps in my neck. ... I still have them.I can't explain the brain fog. The fatigue."

But because Brandi's mammograms were "fine", doctors hadn't considered her 20-year-old implants could be the source of her problems.

However, during a sonogram, medics discovered her right breast had "ruptured" and had "leaks" that left "silicone in both my lymph nodes."

And now, Brandi feels much better after having her implants taken out.

She said: "I'm two weeks out right now, but the first week, I was, like, up. I was actually doing too much because I was so excited to be moving."

But Brandi has been forced to recover alone.

She noted: "My sons have been, they're 18 and 22, so they're grown."

Asked if Eddie - who is now married to LeAnn Rimes - had come to "support" her, she added: "No.

"He has not [shown support]. But we are getting along and that's all I can ask for. We are together on holidays.

"I missed a few because I was ill and it sucked to not be with my boys. I literally would lay in bed for four days straight."

And the reality TV star - whose married to Eddie ended in 2009 when he was unfaithful with LeAnn - claimed the Can't Fight the Moonlight singer hadn't been very helpful either.

Making a face when LeAnn's name was mentioned, she added: "I mean, they have me over for the holidays.

"I talked to her at Christmas a little bit, but I hadn't told anyone about my breasts yet."

But Brandi's sons had let the news slip to LeAnn.

She laughed as she added: "She's like, 'So it's your breast implants?' I'm like, 'No,' and I looked at Mason and he's like, 'What, she got it out of me.' "

Brandi joked she will "never" tell Mason anything again as a result.
