    An injury withdrawal for Sam Tanner means Sam Ruthe won't have to battle his training partner in Saturday's men's 1500 metre final at the national track and field champs in Auckland


    Today's heats were canned and the event was changed to a straight final after Tanner was forced to pull out with a a lower leg injury he's been battling since last month.
