An apology to some of the families impacted by the Christchurch earthquake is hoped to make a difference to those who feel they need it

An apology to some of the families impacted by the Christchurch earthquake is hoped to make a difference to those who feel they need it

Today marks nine years since the Christchurch quake, and mayor Lianne Dalziel is set to apologise to the families of those who died or were seriously injured by falling masonry or building collapses.

Former Christchurch mayor Bob Parker says for some people it will be important to hear that.

He says for other people - they'll be thinking they were part of things that happened too which they didn't like and perhaps they'd also like an apology.
